My Morning Routine

The holidays are really kicking my booty.
I am so behind on the prompt a day blog, so
here I am.
I had my daughter in law Tori pick the prompt for today..
My morning routine.
Now some mornings it is very uneventful as I do suffer from depression and I do tend to just stay in bed and sleep.
But on occasion when I do feel like being a member of society,
I get up around 7 a.m. and have that wonderful first cup of coffee.
I then proceed to send off my seventeen year old to school.
I check my Facebook, Etsy and Goodreads.
By 11 a.m. I get in the shower.
Clean up the house a bit
and then its lunch time.

Now sometimes I have appointments that are thrown in there.
Counseling and doctors.

Finding Love.... Or Waiting Forever for the Right One...

"You can love me more in a moment
than other lover's could in a lifetime."
~ Steffany Frazzle

That quote right there is so very true.
I have been one who falls in love so quickly that
every time it was a false love.. Lust, if you will.
Always ending up with a broken heart.
But the love of Jesus is everlasting and more
fulfilling.

Don't cheapen your heart and value by seeking attention from
what cannot fill or satisfy your soul.
Don't taint your devotion to God for temporary pleasures.
Immerse yourself completely to Him...
He alone will satisfy the longings of your heart.
~ A Modern Day Ruth

My relationship with Jesus means everything to me.
I am no longer going to jeopardize that for anyone.
Even if that means I will not have a physical relationship with anyone,
I will still have the love of my Lord and Savior.
Eventually God will send the one I am to be with in His time.
I just need to have patience and know that
when it happens, it will be forever.

Have a wonderful day!

Memories.... Early and New

Another 30 day blog entry...
I had my son Marshall pick the number.
He came up with two, which is
my earliest memory.

I seriously can remember back to when I was in a crib.
I had to have braces on my feet and
back then they would put your feet into some
contraption and I would have to sleep a certain way so my feet
could be corrected.
I remember screaming it hurt so bad.

I also remember when my I was about 5 years old,
we were living in San Diego.
My Nana and Popo came to visit and my brother cut his
finger almost off on a coffee can.

I also remember one time when my brother was about 5 and he ate a
huge daddy long leg spider.
Ugh!!
So yes, I do remember some things from my childhood.
In fact, I probably could come up with a bunch more.
I will save those for another blog.

Hope you all are having a blessed Sunday..

30 Day Challenge ::Tattoos::

I was cruising facebook one day and a page liked posted a 30 day challenge for bloggers.
Since I have been neglecting my blog for some time now, I figured this is the perfect time to get back into blogging and photography.
I mean, who am I kidding, I need all the practice I can get in the photography department.
I first decided that I am not going to go down the line and start at one, but I am just going to pic a number and run with it.
So last night I asked my son and his friend to pic a number and those chose lucky number seven.

Today's Question....
What tattoos do you have and what is the meaning behind them, if you do?

I have always wanted to get one and I love how they look on guys, but I have yet to get a tattoo.  But.....
I do know what I would want to get if I did get one.
A monkey holding the Chinese symbol for Capricorn.
The meaning is kinda cheesy..
I was born in the year of the Monkey and I am a Cap.

I also want to get an elephant because I LOVE elephants
Lastly I would love a
portrait of my sons friend Mason who passed away.
In the photo I have, he has his hands like he is praying.

So that is the sad truth of question number seven.
No tattoos!!
But a girl can dream can't she????

Have a blessed day!

Book synopsis:
***GRAPHIC CONTENT AND TRIGGER WARNING FOR SEXUAL ABUSE!***
This book contains sensitive subject matter that may trigger unwanted memories. This book contains graphic content and should be read by adults 17 years of age and older.

There was a time in my life when I was someone else.

She died.

As an investigator, I showed no emotion as I found dirt on men for the women that just so happened to fall victim to loving them. I enjoyed the feeling I got when I screwed men over; their discomfort brought me joy. Trust me, I wasn’t always deranged. I used to be young and naive to the evils of the world, but someone snatched that away from me, turning me into a heartless monster.

When I’m assigned another case, my new mark awakes things that I’ve spent my whole life trying to bury.
Emotions.
Fears.
My past.
A man originally intended to be my mark triggers things inside of me that I thought I lost long ago. For him, I was going to face my past, but there was only one thing standing in my way. Will he be the key to my salvation or am I doomed to let my past continue holding me hostage?

Author Bio:  Stina Rubio's love of books runs deep. After being an avid reader for longer than she can remember, she turned her love of books into more and became a cover artists and a writer. As a mother of three boys and two pups, she tries not to melt in the California heat while wrestling with her muse and penning her tales.

Have a great day!

Repurpose Wednesday

A while back my husband sent me some jewelry that he had found
at his parents house that he did not want.
He figured that I could do something with
them.
I found this little gem in the bag...

I really love tigers eye.
This is what I made with it.

Then a couple weeks back I ended up at the DAV Thrift Store.
They always have bags of jewelry pretty reasonable.
I was going to skip over them this last trip,
but my son talked me into
grabbing this huge bag.

The bag was a little over $20
There were all kinds of necklaces that need a little love.
Everything else that I am not going to use I think
I will gift to someone.
Anyways,
my eye then caught a pendant that I had to have.
The necklace was about $3 bucks so I grabbed that too.
I can not wait to tear this apart.

Are you working on anything???
Hope you have a great day.

Wordless Wednesday

Currently I'm........

Currently I'm......

Creating  hooks for some wind chimes and ornaments I have made.

Dreaming about the beach.

Bookmarking a cafe that Robin Williams frequented when he was alive.  They have a great book selection. It is called Depot Bookstore & Cafe.

Drinking ice cold water with lemon.

Looking forward to the pomegranates growing in my tree.

Enjoying the wonderful music of K-Love.

Eating nothing at the moment. But making BBQ Pulled Pork for dinner.

Giggling over a meme of Tom Brady.

Hoping this next storm we are suppose to get
will drop some water on the Valley.

Feeling overwhelmed with trying to get so
much done in a short amount of time.

Playing candy crush is addicting.

Taking a break for a few days helps me recharge.

Reading Under the Influence by L.B. Simmons.
It just came out yesterday and is on sale for .99 on
Amazon & Barnes and Noble.

Needing some time away.

Marveling at the grapes growing over the
neighbors fence into my yard.

Wanting sand in my toes.

Wearing my jammies because
what else would be comfy to blog in??

Working on getting these cards painted.

Wishing I lived closer to the beach..
No wishing I had a car.

Thanks Hope at Crafty Hope for this fun idea.
Have a wonderful day everyone.
Remember to make your day sparkle.

Retribution Blog Tour

Its finally here....
Retribution
the second and final book in the Deception series.

***This is my review of Retribution & it may contain spoilers.***

Claire marries Robert even though she is not in love with him and he could possibly  be the murderer of his deceased wife Marie.  Eventually she realizes she should have listened to Cooper and ran when she could.

The attraction between Claire and Cooper is still as strong and lustful as in Deception.

I actually started to like Claire more because of her growth.  She is a lot stronger in this book.  I was in no way ready for the ending. It had me like whoa!

You can get Deception right now for only $.99.

Have a great day!

Kid's Day March 3, 2015 & National Pancake Day Fundraiser

It's that time of the year again
where we celebrate
Kid's Day!

Kid's Day is special to my family because when my youngest son
Deondre was 9 months old he was hospitalized for 10 days.
Valley Children's staff was amazing with him.
They saved his life and I am forever grateful.
I normally would give $6 because I have 6 kids,
but now with the additions of the grandies,
I am upping my donation to $12.

Thousands of volunteers from all over the Valley will be collecting
donations on almost every street corner in
Fresno, Tulare, Madera, Kings, Merced and Mariposa counties.

This years goal is to raise over $530,000
(which was raised last year)
for the non profit Valley Children's Hospital.

$1 will get you the Kid's Day Special Edition with coupons
and articles such as:
• A look at a father and daughter who have both been treated at Valley Children’s Hospital. Years ago, the dad lost a leg to bone cancer, but his time recuperating at the hospital was so positive he decided to go into the medical profession and now works at the facility.
• The hospital’s Neonatal Intensive Care unit is a Level IV, the highest ranking for any such facility. That means the hospital can take care of any medical situation with newborns except doing transplants.
• A team of Home Care department therapists, nurses and others hit the road to visit patients in their homes.
• Child Life specialists, assistants and volunteers work as liaisons between medical staff and patients.
• The hospital’s imaging department has MRI machines now with SensaVue screens that enable patients to view a video during an exam.
• Neymar and his parents, Viviana and Juan Mendez, are this year’s official ambassadors for the hospital. Despite numerous medical problems, the family remains upbeat and optimistic because of the treatment Neymar has received.

If for some reason you do not see a volunteer,
you can also text GEORGE to 90999
to make a $5 donation.

Also....
Tomorrow is IHOP National Pancake Day
Here is a list of the Valley IHOP's that will be participating:
Tuesday, March 3, 2015, 7 a.m. - 10 p.m.
Participating IHOPs in the valley:

You are Beautiful....... Always!

"We are all a little broken, but the last time I checked;
broken crayons still color the same."

Over the years, since I can remember, I have dealt with some type of
emotion or verbal abuse from people who I cared about.
Some may not have realized their words hurt me,
others knew exactly what they were doing.
By the time I got up the nerve to actually leave my boys father,
my self esteem was non existent.
I basically had believed their lies.
In actuality, I was not the problem, it was them.
They were the ones hurting and wanted me to hurt as well.

You know the old saying....
Misery loves Company.
There is soo much truth in those 3 words.
I was told that no one would ever love me,  no one would love me because I'm a single mother and my all time fav, no one is ever going to love you because of your weight.

It was not until I met the first love of my life in 2007.
(I say the first because geography separated us, our break up was due to a death in the family, I know someone more special is coming & I know that all the others were not love but just products of my issues)
I always say I have been blessed to have him in my life for the short time I did.
He showed me what love really was.
He showed me that I was worth something,
that I was enough.
That I am beautiful!!
Even when I went blind or went through my Thyroid cancer,

I waited for that for such a long time.
And then one day he was gone.

That was when I married.
Big mistake... on both sides.
He was an alcoholic and I was in love with someone else.
To say that out loud
makes me want to slap myself.
Of course I ended up going though the same abuse.
But this time I knew better.
I established a relationship with Jesus
and the more I was into church,
the more the abuse got.
Finally I found a way out, took a chance
and have not been happier.
There are still times where I question my worth.

I met another amazing man, just friends,
but some of the things he says or does makes
me remember just how beautiful I am.

I don't know if he even remembers, but when he came to visit,
I have scars on my chest from an illness
and he just held me and like rubbed his hand across them like they did not exist.
I am always so self conscience about them and
he managed to make me feel beautiful at a time when I did not.

As for my future,
I am taking every day as it comes.
I know what I want, just need to figure out how to go about getting it.
But one thing I do know,
I will not allow the words of others to affect me ever again.
I now know I am beautiful.
I am going to share that with everyone.
I want everyone to know just how beautiful they are
regardless of sex, weight, race, religion or anything else that may make you feel less than.
You are Beautiful!!

Have a blessed day!

Faith Friday: The Seeds of Doubt

After many failed relationships and an abusive one sided marriage, I managed to take the last year to find myself and hopefully date again.
I was not about to let anything from the past interfere with the present.
I found out things about myself I did not know, like how beautiful I truly am, that I am enough and that no matter what, I can not please everyone all the time. I also strengthened some of the things I already knew.  One of those being my relationship with Jesus.  I take it one day at a time. I continuously fail. But I do not give up... EVER!
I have been pretty good at learning to give all my worries to Jesus.  If anything is bothering me or making me cry, I just ask Him to take it and I kid you not, I instantly stop crying or I don't even think about what it is that is bothering me.  Some may think I am crazy, but it is true.

Recently, I have become friendly with a really amazing guy.  We have chatted and hung out.  Things seemed to go really well, which made me hopeful.  But contact with him was very minimal after we hung out because he had been busy.  Which is understandable.  We all have busy lives, some more so than others.
I did start to second guess myself, thinking maybe it did not go as well as I thought.
Or maybe he was not into me, just lots of things ran through my mind.
He assured me he had just been busy and we were basically cool.  I still questioned him I think for another day or two, still with the same thoughts going through my mind.

I did not put two and two together until I was on the phone with one of my girlfriends.  She was explaining to me about how things were going really well in her life, and that she knew it was Satan planting seeds of doubt where ever he could to create some chaos in certain parts of her life.
That's when it hit me.
Everything in my life was going great and the one possible way to cause any chaos or sadness would have been through doubt or second guessing that one relationship.
So I took it to prayer, asked Jesus to handle it and I swear, whatever I was feeling at that one moment, went away.  There are times where I can feel myself start to get that feeling of doubt and I instantly squash it.

So when things seem to be going really good in your life, you have to always keep your faith in the Lord, because Satan is working double time just to find ways to creep into your life and plant those seeds.
Be on the look out and put your faith in Jesus.
It will get better!

Have a blessed weekend.
